We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer / Experienced Paralegal to join our CIR Transport and Logistics team, supervising and handling a portfolio of mainly corporate motor fleet claims with some opportunity to handle EL/PL Casualty claims, predominantly for large blue‑chip corporate clients.
This role will suit an experienced Motor Claims practitioner who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring others, and acting as a trusted adviser to corporate clients, alongside running their own caseload.
We are open to candidates nationwide on a full-time basis. DAC Beachcroft Claims Solutions Group operates from 12 UK locations across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, employing over 1,000 people.
Corporate Insurance & Risk (CIR) forms part of CSG and focuses on advising corporate clients in the defence of claims of all values, types and complexity. As part of our wider CSG strategy, we are continuing to grow our presence across our target corporate industries.
Please note: Significant Motor Litigation, including injury, credit hire and damage experience is preferred.
What you will do?
- Handling a mixed caseload of pre‑litigated and litigated matters, ensuring continuity and a high-quality service for corporate clients.
- Providing technical supervision, guidance and support to junior fee earners and paralegals, including file review, audit preparation, and supporting professional development.
- Taking responsibility for the commercial and effective management of claims, ensuring strategy, indemnity spend and outcomes align with client objectives.
- Acting as a technical referral point within the team particularly on fast track matters.
- Delivering a timely, professional and client-focused service, building strong, trusted relationships with key corporate clients.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, demonstrating a level of technical expertise and judgement commensurate with a supervisory role.
- Creating added value for clients by identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and contributing to bespoke legal and process-driven solutions.
- Supporting and contributing to client relationship management, including attendance at client meetings, training sessions, and claims clinics where required.
- Supporting marketing and business development activity within CIR, including networking events, client presentations and training.
- Assisting with the development of best practice, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
- Building strong internal networks and maintaining awareness of DAC Beachcroft’s wider services.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and external SLAs, quality standards and data security protocols.
- Recording accurate and timely management information and supporting reporting requirements.
- Meeting personal and team performance objectives.
- Playing an active role in supporting the future growth and capability of the team, with scope for increased supervisory or line management responsibility over time.
Who you are
- Strong Motor litigation experience
- A thorough and practical understanding of Motor claims handling, particularly for corporate clients.
- The confidence and credibility to mentor and support others.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with experience dealing directly with corporate clients.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and provide clear technical guidance.
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to balance legal risk, cost and client outcomes.
- The ability to take a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, rather than a purely academic one.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess factual evidence and identify key legal arguments.
- Good IT skills, including working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands.
- Resilience and confidence, particularly in negotiation and challenging discussions.
- An interest in using social media and professional networks to support the CIR brand and profile.
