Marine Senior Claims Technician

We are hiring a Senior Claims Adjuster to join our Marine Claims team in either Manchester or London on a hybrid basis.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Personally manage a portfolio of large, complex and high-profile marine claims, with a primary focus on London Market Cargo accounts.
- Lead negotiations on complex claim settlements, balancing commercial considerations, customer outcomes and technical excellence.
- Provide expert guidance on referrals, claims and complaints, ensuring timely resolution or escalation in line with delegated authority levels.
- Analyse complex claim scenarios, identify key issues and determine pragmatic, commercially effective solutions.
- Drive effective claims spend management through proactive challenge, robust decision-making and strategic use of external suppliers.
- Influence business strategy through technical insight, market intelligence and customer feedback.
Your skills and experience:
- Ample experience handling marine claims within an insurer, syndicate, broker or equivalent environment.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex marine cargo claims in a lead handling capacity.
- Broader marine claims experience, including Freight Liability, Hull, Marine Liabilities and Subrogation, is highly desirable.
- Experience negotiating with senior stakeholders across the London Market, including brokers, clients, legal representatives and service providers.
- Demonstrable experience coaching, mentoring or developing technical capability within claims teams.
- Effective decision maker and comfortable making decisions in an ambiguous working environment.
