In this role, you’ll work as part of the Financial Reporting and Controls team which focuses on business decision support activities, financial and regulatory control, governance oversight, and finalisation of compliant financial and regulatory filings. This newly established team is led by the Group Financial Controller and this role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to, and support the development of, external reporting, close process management, policy and controls, horizon scanning, and functional change projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the production and analysis of financial and regulatory (Solvency II and BMA) reporting for the Group and Risk Bearing Legal Entities (“RBLE”), assisting in the preparation of executive papers.
- Prepare draft commentary on monthly consolidations and workings documents for the financial control cycle, as required.
- Actively contribute to the development of new or revised guidelines and frameworks, such as accounting policies and financial statements revisions.
- Support Investment decisions by developing/enhancing market dashboards and work closely with investment accounting provider to review data integrity, ensuring data issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of peer reporting, including gathering data, providing key insights and feedback ahead of manager meetings and support deep dives into topical financial areas as they arise, including the evaluation of new mandate.
- Provide subject matter expert advice to change projects, as they arise, across the function and wider organisation.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Part qualified Accountant or similar Finance/Investment qualification.
- Previous experience in a financial reporting or control role is required, with a solid understanding of financial markets.
- Analytical mindset and good numerical & financial literacy.
- Co-operative team-player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and enthusiasm to work in a dynamic office environment
- Good attention to detail and capacity to contribute actively across a variety of areas.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills.
