Delegated Authority is a key part of what we do at Zurich and as we continue to develop and grow in this area of the market, we are looking to add an additional Senior Delegated Authority Underwriter to our team. This exciting new opportunity is essential to the development and growth of our Delegated Authority business. So, what will you be doing?
As a Senior Delegated Authority Underwriter, you’ll be managing an existing Delegated Authority portfolio and oversee all the activities required to deliver outstanding service and build relationships with our Delegated brokers, whilst also supporting our growth aspirations by delivering on new business opportunities. This role is a Market facing role, so it’s important that you are great at communicating, relationship building and have a built-in passion for doing the right thing for our customers.
As a senior member of the team your role may require coaching and mentoring other members of the team and supporting them to develop. You will also have accountability and ownership for driving, analysing, and delivering a strong underwriting result across our portfolio.

Your key responsibilities:
- Overseeing and optimising our Delegated Authority portfolio.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with Delegated brokers and key partners.
- Underwriting: Assessing and evaluating risks to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive growth.
- Engaging and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
What are we looking for?
- You will be experienced in underwriting Property and Casualty lines of business.
- You will have Delegated Authority or Portfolio Management experience
- Experience in Construction, or other lines of business would be beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in decision-making.
- Ability to challenge processes and decisions using your experience and attention to detail.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, always keeping the customer foremost in your mind.
