Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underwriter specialising in D&O. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting or sales within the insurance industry and be eager to continue their career in underwriting. This role requires a high level of autonomy, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to hit the ground running.
How you'll make an impact
- Assess and underwrite Directors and Officers insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Analyse financial statements, industry trends, and other relevant data to determine risk levels and appropriate coverage terms.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients to secure profitable business.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and other team members.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of D&O insurance policies, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present underwriting reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the D&O insurance market.
About You
- Minimum of 5 years of underwriting/broking experience within Directors and Officers insurance. Experience with Professional Indemnity a plus.
- Proven track record of success in underwriting or sales within the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
