How does this role contribute to our collective success?
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our growing Offshore Renewable Energy team as an Underwriter. They will be responsible for reviewing new and renewal business, building relationships with brokers and clients, and working closely with other members of the team to achieve the targets set out in the business plan.
What will you do in this role?
- Review and evaluate new and renewal business opportunities
- Work within underwriting guidelines to achieve business plan targets
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Renewable energy risks from a technical perspective
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients
- Work with other departments within Axis to develop products, pricing tools and CAT modelling analysis.
You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have:
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Decisions based on data and analytics, using experience and judgement to get to the result
- Computer skills – good working knowledge of MS Office, advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
What we prefer you to have:
- Renewable Energy technical understanding
- Underwriting experience
- Wordings, clauses and claims knowledge, ideally specific to Renewable Energy
- Knowledge of FCA, PRA and / or Lloyd’s
- ACII
Role Factors:
In this role, you will typically be required to:
- Be in the office 3 days per week
- Occasional International travel
