Job Title: Household Underwriter

Salary Range: Circa £44,000

Household Underwriter: To contribute to the profitable development and maximise the performance of the Ageas Broker Household accounts and take ownership in the development and improvement of underwriting, pricing and products through all distribution channels.
Main Responsibilities as a Household Underwriter:
- To take ownership of actively managed accounts, with the support of the Senior Underwriter to ensure they meet our GWP, MYB and COR targets. Requirement to attend account meetings with Distribution colleagues. Produce scheme performance packs, checking accuracy of internal MI and providing concession guides.
- Support the underwriting management of the broker account schemes and products, working with internal departments to develop and grow profitable accounts and deliver against our strategic ambition, ensuring we meet our GWP, MYB and COR targets.
- To research, develop and make recommendations on new underwriting concepts, utilising market and competitor analysis, to maximise account profitability.
- To review underwriting rules and documentation and make recommendations to ensure that the business written by Ageas is of the required quality to maximise the profitability of the accounts.
- Supporting internal governance procedures and ensuring we are compliant with current Fair Pricing practices.
Skills and experience you need as a Household Underwriter:
- Underwriting experience – 2+ years in Personal Lines.
- Strong numeracy skills with an ability to analyse, interpret and identify trends within large volumes of data and to support with making and presenting clear and accurate recommendations.
- Be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing, and able to communicate technical issues in a clear way.
