Overview – Senior Actuary
- We are seeking to hire a fully qualified actuary to join our Global Advisory & Analytics team based in London (Walbrook) and support directly our COO.
- In this role, you will apply your expertise in casualty reinsurance pricing techniques to provide outstanding client service, presenting data to our partners thus contributing to the ambitious growth targets of the team as well as leading research projects.

Overall requirements
- Focus on Casualty Reinsurance
- Pricing/Reserving experience preferred
- Mixture of analytical, commercial and research (detailed below)
Commercial requirements:
- Assist COO with day-to-day with delivery of analytics for large global/complex clients
- Design and run analyses showing the effectiveness of reinsurance programmes on protecting the Gross portfolio, including experience and exposure rating
- Design effective presentation materials to communicate outputs of analytical work to both brokers (internal) and clients/reinsurers (external)
- Assist with the overall client analytics strategy for our Casualty Reinsurance offering
- Develop detailed understanding of client needs and reinsurer appetite
- Assist with development and execution of client/reinsurer marketing campaign
Research requirements:
- Assist with developing thought leadership and product innovation in the Casualty Analytics space
- Analyse client data and publicly available sources of information to develop a “House view” of the latest developments in the Casualty space including (but not limited to)
- Rating environment
- Claims environment
- Litigation trends and the impact on claims and reinsurance requirements
- The effects of inflation and other macro-economic factors
- Potential impact on rating agency and internal capital requirements
About You
Skills required
- FIA or equivalent
- Technical, commercial and motivated individual with the ability to pivot analytical work to commercial applications
- Ability to think creatively about designing visually compelling analyses to convey key messages
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Consultancy/Broking/Pricing background from a Big 4 or a Reinsurance player
- Casualty lines experience preferred
