Cloud Operations Manager
Role Definition:
The Cloud Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth running of our IT Operations teams. CFC is in a race to beat the opposition in the Insure - tech space. The platforms that we leverage and the tools and systems that our people use form a part of that race in terms of efficient operations and the day-to-day experiences of our staff. The Cloud Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the teams that deliver change and ensure the smooth running of the infrastructure that delivers IT to our people.
The Cloud Operations Manager will oversee the work carried out in our core cloud hosted systems and ensure that the processes and practices employed by the infrastructure teams are fit for purpose. This includes a degree of management of 3rd parties both in relation to provision of BAU services and delivery of changes through projects. The Cloud Operations Manager will also oversee local office LAN and WAN connectivity standards.
Throughout all the work overseen by the Cloud Operations Manager, customer service, quality, security, and stakeholder management will all be crucial.
About the role
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the infrastructure teams to ensure the functionality, availability, support and security of CFC IT systems, data, backups, and networks.
- Provide line management to direct reports and oversee management of the wider IT Operations team, including aspects of staffing levels, professional growth and performance management.
- Ensure that appropriate management information is available for key stakeholders in relation the running of the cloud platform.
- Ensure that troubleshooting and remediation is carried out in an effective and timely fashion of any issues that arise.
- Oversee changes to and maintain accountability for Change Management of the core IT Infrastructure.
- Work with the IT Security and Digital Workplace Managers to implement and operationalise security and support processes and controls.
- Oversee and participate in work relating to the completion of routine activities across the Operations teams, including things like DR testing, audits, service and process reviews etc.
- Take a lead on the creation of a yearly IT infrastructure technology strategy, aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and strategic goals.
- Help to manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts and associated SLAs.
- Assist the Infrastructure Delivery Manager with the coordination of internal and external resources and other activities relating to IT Infrastructure and Operations projects.
About you
Knowledge & Experience:
- A proven leader with experience running teams that look after globally available Azure cloud based infrastructure as well as more traditional LAN/WAN networks
- Understanding of business processes, industry trends, and how cloud technology can drive value
- Proven experience in building and leading technology teams with a global footprint
- Recent experience in a regulated financial services environment is highly valued, especially if in the Insurance industry.
