The opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced New Business Property and Casualty Underwriter to join our experienced and highly successful team of underwriters in Manchester. As an experienced New Business Property and Casualty Underwriter, you will play a critical role in our underwriting team. You will be responsible for assessing and underwriting new business opportunities, ensuring profitable growth, and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality insurance products and services.

Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite new business property and casualty insurance applications.
- Analyse risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather necessary information and negotiate terms.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to brokers and clients.
Your skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a Property and Casualty Underwriter, with a focus on new business.
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance products and underwriting practices.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in insurance software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII) are preferred.
