About the role:
This role provides exposure to a range of finance disciplines, including technical (re)insurance accounting, cost reporting and steering, financial and regulatory reporting, client accounting management, financial planning and analysis and direct & indirect taxes. You will support internal and external stakeholders, contribute to process improvements, and ensure the highest standards of data quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality internal and regulatory reports within set deadlines.
- Prepare and account for shared cost allocations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Support statutory and group reporting, cost controlling, and payroll recharges.
- Handle large datasets and perform quality assurance checks.
- Lead on assigned topics and own all aspects of delivery including any follow ups. This includes working with key IT systems and tools.
- Support the quality assurance process of finance data within key financial deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with Finance colleagues to ensure a smooth month/quarter/year end.
- Work closely with key stakeholders (both within and outside of Great Lakes) to ensure timely delivery of information and a high level of service.
- Support the Great Lakes UK finance team with process improvement and automation initiatives.
- Support broader group projects as required.
- Adhere to relevant Munich Re group and Great Lakes UK local requirements where appropriate and the Group Closing Schedule.

Desired Key Skills & Experience:
- Good knowledge of Insurance or Re-insurance business.
- Understanding of general book-keeping – including preparing and posting journals
- Experience in a general accounting team, ideally in a large global organisation in which adherence to Group standards is required
Desired Qualifications and Educational Background:
University degree in financial or related field, or relevant Insurance/Reinsurance experience
