Job Description
The Role:
To provide support to the Equine and Livestock team in running the day to day of a diverse portfolio of open market risks, lineslips and delegated authority business emanating from multiple platforms, brokers and territories.
The individual in question would be instrumental in the administrative function of the team however would also be involved in the underwriting with long term aspirations to become an underwriter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of all necessary contract documentation for referral, new and renewal business.
- Assist with the maintenance of underwriting manuals, guidelines and other underwriting materials under direction of the underwriting team.
- Binder administration including bordereaux management, DUA liaison, EPI monitoring, and assisting in the preparation of data as appropriate.
- Monitoring the underwriter’s workloads and reporting to ensure all risk records are completed within the time frame within the underwriting guidelines.
- Act as the point of contact and liaison for query resolution between support functions and underwriters.
- Monitor the unit’s key performance metrics.
- Weekly/ monthly/ annual reporting including preparing data for weekly and divisional meeting, reinsurance and any ad hoc management reporting requests.
- Maintain underwriting team meeting agendas, minutes and action point follow-up.
- Assist claims when policy information when required.
- Manage various short and long term projects as assigned by underwriters.
- Responsible for administrative duties as needed to assist the underwriting department.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as brokers, and reinsurance brokers when necessary.
- Attend relevant client meetings, training sessions, team’s meetings.
