Win as a Team
Your role will involve leading our Portfolio Solutions strategy to support the growth and profitability in line with Specialty Lines UK & Europe strategic goals. You will be accountable for the overall governance and management of the Portfolio Solutions business.
You will spend your time agreeing business targets, developing strategy,building governance, creating frameworks and sourcing opportunities. You will be influencing key internal matrix stakeholders, driving through change and ensuring financial, compliance, conduct and engagement KPI 's and operating targets are achieved.
You will work with the Portfolio Solutions team and matrix partners, providing motivational and engaging leadership to drive, manage and control business performance.
You’ll make an impact by
Establishing and implementing the strategy for Portfolio Solutions in compliance with agreed underwriting guides, regulatory requirements, governance policies, operational producers and risk appetite.
Manage Underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management of all business written under Portfolio solutions. Maximising data collection and analytics to out perform market.
Responsible for performance management and actively tracking performance of each portfolio solution and MGA with a view to derive actions that will maintain performance of portfolio solutions book at CoR < 90.
Manage and resource Portfolio Solutions team to ensure excellent service, develop robust governance, pricing transparency, and cost tools.
Responsible for expanding and strengthening the quality and depth of relationships with our brokers, delegated partners and all external stakeholders, including owning engagement plans and driving greater retention.
Clear articulation of our value proposition, identification of opportunities, including cross selling products. and involvement and coordination of Portfolio Solutions management and business planning.
Create business cases for new class of business to be written under Portfolio Solutions whilst liaising with Product Directors to develop opportunities and cross sell.
You will be a risk owner and responsible for managing all Portfolio Solutions, ensuring all risk definitions and ratings are appropriate, and monitoring risks against agreed
risk appetite, tolerances, and aggregations. Escalating risk events and control failures and taking actions to address.
Your skills and experience
Significant underwriting and strategic experience, preferably gained within Lloyd’s and/or the London Market, with the ability to navigate a specialist, regulated environment and contribute to long term underwriting strategy and market positioning.
Extensive experience in portfolio management , including performance oversight, trend analysis, risk appetite alignment.
Knowledge of Delegated Authority underwriting and preferred cross class product knowledge, enabling effective oversight, informed decision making, and collaborative input across multiple insurance lines and underwriting disciplines.
Preferred understanding of actuarial pricing techniques
Preferred experience in strategic account and business planning, contributing to the development of growth strategies, market analysis , and the creation of robust, forward looking business plans.
Demonstrating excellent personal accountability, resilience, and consistently high performance standards, as well as the ability to inspire similar levels of commitment within a team.
Excellent organisational and management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple priorities, structure complex workstreams, maintain oversight of deliverables, and ensure high quality outcomes within demanding timeframes.
Extensive interpersonal and people management capabilities, enabling the building of trusted relationships, effective team leadership , talent development, and the promotion of an inclusive, collaborative working culture.
Advanced problem solving skills, with the capacity to analyse complex information, assess risks, evaluate strategic options, and implement clear and practical solutions.
