Overview
The full-time, independent Manager Research Team (MRT) at Gallagher, formerly Redington, is responsible for identifying and researching the best investment managers from around the world for the firm’s broad range of clients. With a high conviction, unconflicted approach, the team’s philosophy is to select just a handful of managers per asset class.
The Private Markets research function is responsible for researching, selecting and monitoring asset managers across Private Credit, Private Equity, Infrastructure and Real Estate strategies.
How you'll make an impact
As the asset classes continue to evolve, the Private Markets research team act as thought leaders to evaluate attractive investment opportunities and deliver advice to clients.
The role entails preparation of market and manager research materials, due diligence reports and commentaries for our internal Investment Strategy Committee and client teams, in building and monitoring our manager ‘Preferred Lists’, and to support our provision of bespoke advice to the firm’s clients.
This involves qualitative and quantitative analysis of information sourced from our investment managers and independent sources, meetings and building relationships with investment managers, and forming and challenging opinions within the team.

- Quick to learn, understand and evaluate
- Passionate about finance, capital and private markets
- Well versed in the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) – Intermediate level
It would be great if you also
- Have 18 months+ industry experience
- Have some first-hand manager selection experience, ideally with exposure to private markets asset classes, with the interest and appetite to learn, research and apply knowledge across the spectrum of Private Markets.
- Take the initiative to continually improve and integrate processes and question the status quo.
- Use external analytics and data platforms, such as Bloomberg, ADA Research, Preqin, Pitchbook MSCI to source, check, consolidate and evaluate data.
