Location and flexible working: This role will ideally be based in our London office. There will be some flexibility to work between the office and home. We have an incredible and unique opportunity for a Reinsurance Actuary to join the Reinsurance and Structuring team, as part of the Retirement Solutions and Asset Management function.

The Role
- Your primary focus will be supporting the delivery of reinsurance solutions for our Retirement Solutions business including supporting the team on the live deal pipeline, sourcing and assessing reinsurance (flow and facultative) to achieve optimal outcomes and supporting deal execution in a structuring and project management capacity
- Performing analytical analysis to check the commercial viability of prospective longevity swap and funded reinsurance transactions and making recommendations on strategy to maximise chances of success
- Supporting the negotiation, documentation and governance required to on-board new arrangements including ensuring all relevant risks are appropriately managed and controls are operated
- Enhancing and embedding streamlined processes and delivering efficiencies across all reinsurance activity
- Expanding reinsurance capabilities and supporting strategic projects. Engaging with senior internal stakeholders and taking them along the journey where new developments are necessary
What We’re Looking For
Experience, Knowledge and Skills (Essential)
- Technical aptitude and strong analytical skills (data manipulation and cashflow modelling) with keen eye for detail
- Knowledge of the BPA market, longevity underwriting or previous experience in insurance/reinsurer/DB de-risking
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain quality stakeholder relationships
- Commercial knowledge of pension de-risking products including bulk annuities and longevity swaps would be desirable
- Newly Qualified Actuary, with experience in the pension or life specialism
Desirable
- Experience in performing longevity experience analyses
Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, taking full ownership of tasks and projects and prioritise.
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and driving changes that enhance efficiency or outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold quality standards in documentation, reporting, and process delivery.
- Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills, working effectively across teams to achieve shared objectives.
