Location: This role will be based from London with travel required to our Edinburgh and Birmingham offices. Time will be spent working in the office as well as from home.

The role
The Finance Change Director for Group Finance will be a pivotal role supporting the Finance Leadership Team and CFO. This critical role is responsible for leading and delivering the comprehensive transformation agenda for the Group Finance function of a large FTSE 100 life assurance company. They will be instrumental in shaping the future of Finance, ensuring its capabilities are aligned with strategic business objectives, regulatory demands, and the evolving needs of our internal stakeholders.
As Finance Change Director, you’ll lead Finance wide change initiatives that strengthen controls, optimise capital and liquidity, and deliver cost efficiencies. This is a high-impact role where you’ll set the strategic direction for data and platform management, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive business optimisation projects, including acquisitions and legal entity rationalisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance the Finance control environment and improve forecasting and reporting capabilities.
- Optimise capital and liquidity, enabling greater financial flexibility.
- Deliver Finance cost efficiencies and ensure regulatory and balance sheet compliance.
- Develop the long-term strategy for Finance data and platform management to achieve best practice.
- Lead business optimisation initiatives and the Finance integration of acquisitions.
What are we looking for?
- Proven track record in leading large-scale enterprise transformation within complex organisations.
- Experience in FTSE 100 or similar large corporate environments, ideally in financial services or life assurance.
- Sound understanding of actuarial and finance principles in life assurance, including regulatory frameworks and capital management.
- Extensive senior leadership experience in change delivery (e.g., Programme Director, Head of Transformation).
- Background in enterprise change within corporate teams or top-tier consultancy.
- Solid financial acumen and familiarity with processes and technologies in regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large teams through significant organisational change.
- Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management skills at C-suite level.
