Job Description
Chubb is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Construction Casualty Underwriting Team. You’ll work with some of the largest and most complex tier 1 contractors, infrastructure/civil projects, middle market contractors, and specialist construction businesses across the UK, Ireland, and internationally. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for growing and managing a diverse portfolio, partnering with key national, independent, and wholesale brokers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal business in line with Chubb’s underwriting guidelines, budgets, and local business plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, internal stakeholders, and external clients, representing Chubb’s brand and values.
- Proactively service key producers and clients through regular engagement, focusing on business acquisition, retention, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and execution of underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and forecasting to achieve profitability targets.
- Ensure quality control and compliance within your area of responsibility, including timely and accurate policy documentation and quotations.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues, fostering a high-performing underwriting team.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in Construction or Casualty underwriting, with a solid understanding of the insurance market and competitors.
- Proven track record of building and managing relationships with brokers and clients.
- Results-oriented, with the ability to make decisions and work independently.
- Recognized as an experienced professional within the industry.
- ACII qualification preferred.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and broadening business skills.
