Job Title: Finance Specialist (Workday Financials)
Division: Finance
Reports To: As per Beazley’s organisation chart
Key Relationships: Finance Product Owners, Finance Leadership Team, Workday Platform Lead Corporate Functions IT Platform Lead, Corporate Functions Technical Lead.
Job Summary: In this role you will be a member of the Workday Configuration team supporting and enhancing our existing Workday functionality through continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the delivery of Grow & Transform enhancements across the Workday Financials Roadmap, based on detailed planning with Product Owners, and where necessary, provide Workday subject matter expertise across all modules in Workday Financials.
- Work within a team of Finance systems specialists who are responsible for Workday configuration enhancements, optimisation, new features and functionalities.
- Work with end users and product owners across each Workday pillar to identify and work through cross functional impacts of any post-production changes in Workday.
- Oversee custom reporting, assessment of reporting requests and ownership of the reporting catalogue for Finance.
- Managing Workday ‘Ask an Expert’ requests for Finance.
- Drive the annual functional reviews for Finance as part of the Workday Success Plans subscription.
- Drive the twice a year Feature Release reviews in conjunction with Product Owners to determine which features should form part of Product backlogs for delivery.
- Ensure the Workday ERP solution design is maintained for the areas relating to Workday Financials modules.
- Chair Beazley’s Workday Financials governance forum for changes to the workday data model.
- Involvement in Beazley’s internal Value Realisation Framework and Finance Technical Design Authority.
- Work closely with the relevant internal teams (e.g. Information Security, Financial Controls) to ensure governance is followed in terms of changes applied to Workday's domain and business process security policies within the respective Sandbox and Production environments.
- Provide support from a Finance perspective where other Workday products are being implemented to identify any regression impacts (e.g. Workday HCM or Workday Strategic Sourcing).
- Where required, provide support to help resolve Audit requests.
Role-Specific Competencies
- Experience of working in a Finance team with experience of core financial accounting processes and controls is required.
- Good understanding of financial/reg/stat reporting particularly in the Insurance industry would be highly desirable.
- 3+ years Workday Financials experience in AMS/CVS roles as a Workday implementer and/or Client Support is required.
- Demonstrable experience of being able to troubleshoot complex Workday Financials configuration, data and security support issues and ability to identify the most efficient workarounds to resolve and optimize the business processes and controls within Workday.
- Adaptive Planning experience is essential.
- Experience of using EIBs/Web Services.
- Ability to create Workday Custom Reports, Calculated fields, condition rules, custom objects, custom fields is required.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to liaise with end users across the business.
- Excellent organization and time management skills needed for prioritization and resolution of assigned support tickets.
- Any PRISM and/or Accounting Centre experience will be highly desirable.
- Any integrations experience related specifically to Workday Financials integrations would be desirable.
Essential Criteria
- Experience as a Qualified Accountant is required.
- Accounting qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA is required.
- Report Writer certification is required.
- Current or past Workday Financials Core, Foundation Data Model “FDM” and Record to Report “R2R” is required.
Education and Qualifications
- Current or past Procure to Pay “P2P”, Business Assets, Banking and Settlement, PRISM and Accounting Centre certifications are desirable.
