Technical Claims Lead – Financial Lines

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Claims Lead to join our Specialty Casualty Claims team in London. This is a key leadership role where you’ll take ownership of complex Financial Lines claims, provide expert technical guidance, and help shape claims strategy across the business.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality decision-making, supporting business performance, and delivering an exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the technical management of complex Financial Lines claims
- Acting as a key escalation point for high-value or sensitive claims issues
- Providing guidance, mentorship and training to claims and underwriting teams
- Supporting consistent reserving and coverage decisions across the portfolio
- Collaborating with underwriting on policy wording and product development
- Engaging with brokers, reinsurers, and other stakeholders on claims matters
- Managing service providers and driving effective claims resolution strategies
- Deputising for the Head of Specialty Casualty Claims when required
- Contributing to strategic initiatives across the Claims function
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience (circa 10+ years) in insurance within the London and/or international market
- Deep expertise in Financial Lines claims handling
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex coverage issues
- Confident communicator who can influence and build relationships at all levels
- Leadership capability with experience mentoring or guiding teams
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively
