Job overview:
We’re looking for a talented Senior Pensions Actuarial to join our team. You'll be playing a key role in managing the pension scheme funding strategies, focusing on liabilities and valuation processes. Working closely with stakeholders across AXA, you’ll help shape our pension landscape, lead on liability modelling, and provide expert advice on scheme funding and risk management. This role offers a great chance to develop your expertise in a friendly, dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of pension liability strategies, including modelling and risk management.
- Lead on scheme valuations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting, and assist with IFRS accounting processes.
- Manage ongoing de-risking initiatives, including longevity swaps and liability management projects.
- Analyse scheme funding positions and provide insights to support strategic decision making.
- Develop models and tools to assess economic capital and other financial metrics related to pensions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations for trustees, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement in valuation methods, models, and reporting standards.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Your skills & experience:
- Proven years of actuarial experience within pensions, investments, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of UK pension schemes, funding, and valuation techniques.
- Proven experience with pension scheme modelling and risk management.
- Proven experience on C#, Python or equivalent
- Familiarity with IFRS, Solvency II, or other regulatory frameworks.
- A proactive mindset with excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
- Skilled in using actuarial software, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Experience working with trustees, trustees’ committees, or senior stakeholders.
