Job Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will play a pivotal role within the Change Delivery team, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to lead and drive process improvements, system enhancements, and organisational change initiatives within a fast-paced environment. Following the Amwins Change Delivery Framework, this role will focus on enabling business transformation within the organisation, ensuring that solutions align with business objectives, improve efficiency, and support overall growth and sustainability.
Key Stakeholders
- Work closely with other members of the Change Delivery team.
- Work closely on with the teams of the Director of Operations, Head of Business Systems, Head of Infrastructure and Heads of Data and Analytics within AGR.
- Work closely with business units across AGR (broking, underwriting, binders).
- Work closely with third party service providers and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder management: Provide business with effective support and advice/expertise in relation to technological and operational changes to be implemented.
- Develop Change Ideas: work with business, change delivery and technical teams to shape ideas for changes to process and technology into projects, understanding and challenging rationale for change, benefits and potential solutions for senior stakeholders.
- Requirements gathering: Work collaboratively with business users to gather, gain consensus and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements. Produce high-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), process maps and user stories aligning to Amwins Business Analysis Standards.
- Business process mapping and analysis: Lead detailed analysis of business processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Design and recommend changes that deliver measurable improvements in service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Change Management: Lead the analysis of the impact of proposed changes on people, processes, and technology. Work closely with the Change Delivery Director to develop and implement change management strategies and support transition activities for both business and operational teams.
- Project management support: Support project managers in the delivery of business change projects by providing expert business analysis. Helping projects to deliver on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
- Project management execution: For smaller deliveries, ability to plan and manage delivery of projects and follow Amwins Change Delivery Framework.
- Solution Design Support: Partner with technical teams and third-party vendors to ensure that solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and align with business goals. Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating effective communication.
- Testing and Validation: Ensure that delivered solutions meet the documented requirements. Support testing, UAT and defect management processes and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues, interpret complex data, design effective solutions and articulate findings accurately.
- Ability in defining requirements (functional and non-functional) and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to create process maps in Visio and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate themselves and others to successfully complete tasks/work packages.
- Strong proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., BPMN, Agile, Waterfall).
Knowledge and experience
- Experience of working in Lloyds and London Insurance Market, in Broking and/or Underwriting.
- Proven track record of leading business analysis for complex change projects from initiation to delivery.
- Solid understanding of broking/underwriting operations, insurance products, and industry regulations.
- Strong understanding of project management principles (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and experience working within structured project delivery frameworks. Experience in working in an Agile software development environment.
- Experience in driving and supporting change initiatives, including people, process, and system changes.
- Business Analysis Expertise: Previous experience of working as a Business Analyst.
- A good knowledge and understanding of reporting and analytical tools, data analysis principles and quantitative methodologies used to gain insights into the data and present findings to the audience in question.
Qualification
- Professional Business Analysis qualifications such as BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Project management or business change certifications (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
