Overview
We are recruiting for a Large Loss Solicitor to join growing our team based in Tamworth.
You will manage a caseload of pre-litigated and litigated large loss claims, primarily related to Road Traffic Accidents (RTA). This role requires the ability to travel nationwide to conduct site visits, prepare locus reports, and perform comprehensive investigations.
You will be responsible for reporting to clients on the prospects of success, liability, quantum, reserves, and strategic tactics. The litigated claims will mainly involve multi-track cases with values exceeding £200,000.
How you'll make an impact
- Defending pre-litigated and litigated motor claims on behalf of large corporates from issue to trial; claims to include personal injury/property damage; credit hire; LVI and fraud
- Assessing liability and setting and maintaining reserves in accordance with client service level agreements and client KPIs
- Investigation of merits of claims
- Telephone and correspondence negotiation with third parties, third party insurers and third party solicitors to agree the best client outcome
- Valuing General and Special Damages
- Use of the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Authorities to obtain the best client outcome
- On all own handled claims ensure full compliance with all office protocols, client service level agreements and client KPIs
- Achieving on all own handled claims 100% data integrity compliance on the office case management system
- Working within and supporting the litigation team to achieve and maintain full compliance with all office protocols, client service level agreements and client KPIs
- Delegation and supervision of appropriate tasks to the Claims Administration Assistants
- Full compliance on all financial transactions with the client service level agreements and client KPIs and The Solicitors Accounts Rules
- To support the Head of Litigation and Litigation Claims Manager with acting as the key conduit between the claims handlers and the SSL and GB Management team
- To work with management team in developing and maintaining client relationships and preparing for and attending client service reviews
- To ensure that the data held on the case management system is to a sufficiently high standard and support in the preparation of client reports
- To be responsible for the teams’ delivery on specified targets and controlling the claim lifecycle as well as contributing to financial targets and feeding back to the team in respect of the on-going achievability
- To assist the SSL and management team in recovering outstanding client bills and aged debt
- To act with honesty and integrity at all times, leading by example and promoting a positive and willing attitude to all
About You
- Qualified solicitor or CILEX or FCILEX
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of handling multi-track cases
- Minimum 3 years experience of dealing with large loss claims exceeding £250k in valuation
- Defendant RTA experience
- A pragmatic and pro-active individual with demonstrable examples of prior working methods that evidence the same
- The ability to deliver upon targets and tasks to the required level
- Demonstrable self-motivation and initiative
