As the Head of Partnerships, you will own and proactively drive the overall panel and partnership strategy through trading relationships, commercial governance, and contract management.
Following Saga’s recent announcement to partner with Ageas in early 2026, you will work with our existing partners to optimise our mutually profitable trading performance over 2025, and ensure Ancillary commercial contracts and services are reviewed and structured so as to ensure a seamless transition to Ageas.
Saga’s Home & Motor products serve over 1 million customers and generate c. £300million in NWP. Collaborating with leaders and colleagues across Insurance and the wider Saga group, you will lead the strategic development and management of our Panel, Third Parties, and Ancillary products, supporting our organisational strategy and delivering exceptional experiences for our customers.
Reporting to the COO of Saga Insurance, you will support them as a Certified Function Holder, adhering to the FCA SMCR, Governance and Business Code of Conduct, always acting with integrity and due diligence.
At Saga offer flexibility over where you work – you choose a place where you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London or Kent. This role has the requirement of being in our London office twice a month, including frequent travel to our partners’ sites across the UK.

Role Responsibility
As our Head of Partnerships, you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the Home & Motor panel, including panel structure, product development, and insurer pricing/underwriting strategies. You will also be constantly looking for both tactical and strategic opportunities to optimise net rates.
Accountabilities will include:
- Working with our Home and Motor panel to leverage Saga data, develop product and pricing opportunities to secure a profitable 2025 for Saga and our panel and partners
- Leverage Saga capabilities to deliver product, pricing and operational benefits to Saga, our partners and our customers
- Develop a transition strategy with our broader set of Commercial partnerships to facilitate an effective transition to the Ageas affinity arrangement
- Championing Customer Advocacy through panel and supplier management, undertaking root cause analysis of products to understand key drivers behind customer experience/complaints and seek to deliver innovative solutions
- Working closely with the Third Party Claims Management team, to support high-level negotiations and resolution of external supplier relationship issues, including intervention within the claims process where necessary, to protect the Saga brand
- Staying connected with business trends/changes and sharing market insights to enable best practices throughout the business
- Regular attendance at Saga Services Trading Board in an SME capacity and support for other relevant sub-committees
- Leading the Home and Motor panel management team, supporting the development, engagement and wellbeing of the team in line with our culture and values
- Risk identification and management responsibility for all Panel insurer and supplier relationships
- Defining and understanding the data required to inform the refinement of commercial strategies.
- Maintaining and developing management information and financial records and reports
- Representing the Company’s position in contract negotiation at director level with partners, ensuring contracts are prepared to company standards and aligned to corporate governance processes.
- Using knowledge and expertise to make sure the policies and processes underpin delivery of business priorities and are simple, relevant, and inspiring.
- External audit management to ensure full cooperation with Third Parties, leading to an effective conclusion
The Ideal Candidate
As our Head of Partnerships, you would have experience working at Head of/Director level in a branded retail, financial services, or other business environment in a sizeable organisation with an understanding of working in a regulated environment.
Personal Lines Insurance knowledge and a strategic-level understanding of Product Development, Pricing, and Commercial Negotiation are essential. An understanding of personal lines insurance pricing, data enrichment, and utilisation strategies would be an advantage.
