Are you ready to lead a thriving office to new heights? Our Chelmsford Office of 30 people, generates around $11m of business each year. As our Head of Office, with 12 direct reports, you’ll be the driving force behind the strategic vision. Ultimately, you’ll lead an office which is celebrated for its exceptional staff satisfaction and motivated team.

This pivotal role is designed for a leader who excels in people management and team development, propelling business growth and playing a vital role in sustaining our robust community presence and client relationships.
Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR):
This role falls under the FCA’s SM&CR, which means that as a minimum, your fitness and propriety to perform the role will be assessed and submitted annually to the FCA. We will issue your certificate prior to performing the role and at least annually thereafter.
How you'll make an impact
- Collaborate with senior leaders to execute the branch strategy, enhance client satisfaction, and foster a successful Sales and Marketing culture.
- Inspire and lead the Chelmsford team to meet ambitious growth goals, fostering an inclusive and high-performing environment through clear objectives, professional development, and strategic recruitment.
- Be a consistent presence in the office to support and guide the team, who currently operate on a hybrid schedule.
- Design and execute coaching and development plans to elevate team performance.
- Foster strong relationships with local businesses and community leaders.
- Engage with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Develop and manage business plans and budgets to achieve financial targets and ensure accurate data reporting.
- Apply the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, oversee risk management, and ensure adherence to Gallagher policies.
- Fulfil the role in alignment with the FCA’s Senior Manager & Certification Regime requirements, always considering the FCA’s Principles for Business.
About You
- Demonstrated success in growing a business within the insurance industry, ideally from a brokerage background.
- Solid grasp of commercial insurance, personal insurance lines, and/or relevant specialty lines, depending on the branch's focus.
- The ability to lead a high-performing team, with previous experience in people management, coaching and performance improvement.
- You’ll be a people person, who can build lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike, you’ll have a real enthusiasm for nurturing team growth.
- Skilled in establishing and sustaining strategic relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with an emphasis on sustainable growth and development.
- Familiarity with FCA regulations.
