A senior leadership role at Lloyd’s, reporting directly to the Market Oversight Director managing a team of 8 Account Managers through providing strategic direction, thought leadership and being an escalation point to work through solutions in partnership with a broad range of internal subject matter experts. You will develop and implement a consistent and effective account management strategy, supporting and leading this team whilst driving the improvement of process, operational efficiency and team performance and growth.
Accountabilities:
- Prepare and drive a strategy that provides high quality and consistent account management and support to Managing Agents, Internal stakeholders and Regulators. Overseeing the Account Management department, setting department goals and KPIs that support the strategy against which the Account Management team’s performance can be assessed.
- Drive and oversee the operational efficiency of the Account Management team through the creation and continuous improvement of team processes and use of tools (including Dynamics and Power BI) to ensure that all Account Managers are operating to consistent service levels.
- Oversee the performance and growth of the Account Management team, motivating and guiding team members, supporting them to identify and implement solutions to emerging issues. ensuring that good quality learning tools are available for the support and development of the Account Managers and that there is a clear structured development and learning plan for each Account Manager.
- Through a clear understanding and appreciation of market conditions, Lloyd’s priorities or changing regulatory or commercial landscapes, continually challenge and develop / refine processes and protocols for reporting and presenting to CPG, MOG and other committees and ensure such processes and protocols are clearly documented and adhered to.
- Act as the first point of escalation for Account Managers for any issues arising with key stakeholders, drawing on your experience to tackle difficult conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Prepare reports as required for the Market Oversight Director on behalf of the Account Management team, including in respect of the performance of the Account Management team against KPIs.
- Be a member of the Market Oversight Director’s Senior Leadership Team, actively contributing to decision making, ensuring that the Account Management view of a managing agent is represented in key forums and that an integrated approach to the Managing Agent relationship is achieved
- To be responsible for the delivery of all internal audit or other actions allocated to Account Management, relating to the continuous improvement of Lloyd’s Oversight Framework and its operation.
To deliver this role you will need to be able to evidence strong people leadership capabilities, as 50% of time you will be leading, growing and managing the performance of the team, with the remainder of your time spent innovating and implementing the account management strategy and improving operational efficiency, with a focus on managing key internal stakeholder partnerships. This role will not directly manage any oversight relationships with managing agents, but will be an escalation channel where required for the team.

- Coach, develop and inspire team members to achieve their potential and deliver a strong performance
- Demonstrate and apply strong negotiation, facilitation and listening skills to encourage collaboration, resolve issues and deliver difficult messages
- create and continually update a robust, commercial and (individual and team) development focused strategy that inspires the Account Management team and delivered measurable positive results.
- Effectively operate within a matrix structure drawing together the services and activities of multiple functions
- Strong organisational and project management skills to ensure all Account Management activity adhere to set documented processes to protect Lloyd’s legal, regulatory position and reputation.
