Broker – Structured Portfolio Solutions
Aon is currently recruiting for a Broker to join the Global Broking Centre’s Portfolio Solutions team.
This role spans across Aon London’s Global Broking Centre (GBC), over 25 lines of business and working with a broad spectrum of teams to evolve the wholesale broking strategy in London.
The Global Broking Centre in London is an integral part of Aon’s global broking strategy. The GBC provides colleagues from across the Aon network with access to specialist brokers and client managers, dedicated client solutions and thought leadership, and significant global insurance capacity.
The GBC works with network colleagues to deliver market-leading solutions to Aon clients, creating a competitive advantage in our placement strategies worldwide.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office

What the day will look like
- Work with Portfolio Solutions Director supporting on Aon Client Treaty within the broking teams
- Work alongside AUM and the Strategy and Technology Group in developing the submission process within the GBC
- Support the GBC contribution in respect to reduction of indexation risk and work alongside the GBC BUs to manage both the new business and renewal pipeline
- Develop an understanding of the GBC portfolio and what is in scope for ACT – including client numbers, segmented by size, product, industry, class of business etc.
- Understand the contribution and impact of key classes of business to the overall profitability and make-up of the portfolio
- Participate in the renewal process, and manage any mid-term changes, looking to review and support Aon’s strategy in the growth of ACT with current and potential new markets
- Assist the GBC Chief Broking Officer to strengthen knowledge of other Structured Portfolio Solutions in the GBC
- Build working relationships with BU leads and those actively managing the SPS with in each BU
- Work with GBC to manage key communications related to AUM and SPS placements such as online marketing materials
- Promote all compliance related requirements throughout the area and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure all agreed practices and tools are actively and consistently applied
- Ensure compliance with binding authority management protocols and standards and working with binding authority management team, Lloyd’s and/or ACT insurers, as necessary, to ensure on-going compliance with internal/external and regulatory requirements
How this opportunity is different
You will work within the Portfolio Solutions Team supporting GBC, Aon Underwriting Managers (Aon’s UK in house MGA) and the GBC Business Unit (BU) Leaders to support the GBC broking strategy in relation to Structured Portfolio Solutions including Aon Client Treaty.
Portfolio Solutions is at the forefront of the Aon Global Broking Centre’s distribution and broking strategy, recognised as a Business Unit and valuable partner leading the development and management of Structured Portfolio Solutions (SPS).
Within Portfolio Solutions, the Binding Authority team is a central hub with specific technical and broking expertise, enabling growth in Aon’s network through insight driven risk transfer advice and market solutions.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Proven interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining business relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience as a broker working with binding authorities is essential.
- Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance broking is essential.
- Experience working or desire to work across multiple classes of business across the London Insurance Market.
