Convex North America Insurance Services LLC (‘Convex US’) is a specialty insurance Managing General Underwriter (MGU) focused on the Excess & Surplus lines market. Convex US is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Convex Insurance UK Ltd (“Convex UK”), and as such, has substantial capital support to assure not only a successful startup but long-term financial success. We are a MGU for Convex Insurance UK Ltd. that underwrites specialty insurance in the commercial property and casualty market.

This a fantastic new opportunity for a talented, energetic, and ambitious individual to join our growing team. In this role, the ideal candidate would possess deep knowledge of the product and leverage existing relationships to achieve new business production goals for our Construction Professional Liability products while collaborating with team members to build out the next phase of Convex US. This position would report to the Head of Professional. The successful candidate will assist in producing significant new business in accordance with relative authority levels and established guidelines, establish and maintain broker relationships, participate in special projects, and support the overall production goals of Convex US.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside specified brokers with significant Construction Professional books of business, writing new business Contractors Professional and Owners Protective coverages consistent with our underwriting guidelines and appetite.
- Build and manage robust, productive, and profitable relationships with brokerage partners, and participate in the broker appointment process
- Contribute to our marketing initiatives and provide consistent communication of our Construction Professional products and appetite to appointed brokers.
- Liaise with internal/external auditors.
- Travel to meet with brokers and engage in marketing as needed; attend and participate in industry conferences relevant to the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or significant years of insurance related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with annual and project-specific policies in both contractors professional liability and owners protective indemnity
- Proven ability in nurturing solid relationships with external partners as well as relevant internal stakeholders
- Clear understanding of the Construction Professional marketplace.
- Strong established relationships and excellent working rapport with brokerage community.
- Sound decision-making and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel
