Lead Planning Analyst – Strategic Reporting
Division: Financial Planning Team within Financial Performance
Reports To: As per Beazley’s organisation chart

Job Summary: Specialist insurance company Beazley is seeking a Senior Financial Strategist within it’s Finance function to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning this role will involve the ownership of the Group Medium Term Plan (MTP) – a 5 year GAAP plan, and all related upstream and downstream reporting. The MTP at Beazley is a relatively new and evolving plan (in its 3rd year) but is seen as a central model for the group (and 3 UW platforms) in management long term financial and KPI performance – thus has recived the close attention of numerous senior stakeholder recently. To that end, the model and MTP process is still in development with Senior Financial Strategist initially expected to ensure the successful roll out of the medium term plan model, delivered through Financial's new EPM tool (Workday Adaptive). An attribute of this role is its exposure to a wider range of stakeholders and in being responsible for managing 1 direct report, deploying expertise to create extra value and enable the team to deliver on the benefits of Finance modernisation and help achieve the company’s overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initially (25Q4 - 26Q1), this role will be chiefly accountable for the successful roll out of the 2026 MTP P&L annual update which will be run for the first time out of Workday Adaptive and reported to the Exec Co in Q2 2026.
- Update and enhance the MTP roadmap and model development through 2026 (and onwards) to namely to ensure scenario and stress analysis can be incorporated by the tool (on request by CFO and others) and meet the needs of downstream stat and reg reporting - The build out of a medium term balance sheet and group/entity level will be required for this. This actively will be done in coordination with the Adaptive team with this role acting in Business Lead capacity.
- Stakeholder management is a key attribute of the role namely: working with all UW teams to ensure consistent and accurate long term forecasts; Group Actuarial and Capital to align all modelling assumptions where necessary and Group Strategy to overlay scenarios, stresses and strategic initiatives options which will inform future impactful management decisions.
- Given the exposure of the role, be prepared on request to update the MTP model for management proposals and strategic initiatives and to be on hand to present at the Exec Co and other senior committees.
- Despite bottom up annual refresh, the cadence of reporting of the MTP is always open therefore operational resiliency and organisation will be expected from the role holder to meet on the spot needs from the Group CFO and others, to analyse the finance and strategic impact of potential mgmt. actions and on the base MTP model.
- Affirm the MTP as a central component within the Integrated Planning Framework. Alongside the Senior Planner (in the Fin reporting team), the IPOG and CUO Office, ensure underwriting and expense management accountability is upheld with the MTP acting as a blueprint for 1 year business planning.
- Alongside the Senior Planning, ensure consistent high quality downstream reporting to reg and platform forums on a 5 year basis. In particular, alignment should be made with the Capital Long Term plan and Group/entity level ORSA in both assumptions and stress tests in response to an action from the Risk Team..
- Competency of IFRS 17 accounting is to enable translation of the MTP GAAP result to IFRS 17 in response to a Risk Management team action.
- Be part of strategic project working groups to ensure commercial and operational factors are considered when appraising a management or strategic actions. This will require the job holder to act with discretion in handling privileged information.
- Work with the Head of Financial Planning and their management team to foster a culture that values employee experience, empowerment and wellbeing alongside amplifying the team’s overall capabilities

Education and Qualifications
- Experienced qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) of at least 5 years PQE.
- Experience of the insurance market, preferably Lloyd’s
- Experience of planning roles within complex insurance organisations and knowledge of accounting policies adopted.
- Experience using and developing the capabilities of EPM planning Tools (such as Workday Adaptive) is preferred but not essential.
