About the Role:
A key role supporting a growing Delegated Authority Claims team within Liberty. A core component of the role will manage technical referrals received from Delegated Partners worldwide, particularly in the Financial Lines space as well as referrals from growing business line, including Property and Casualty, Legal Indemnities, Insolvency & multi-line SuperCoverholders. The role will also more generally support the strategic claims performance oversight across a global, multi-line portfolio of delegated claims partners.
We are looking for a dynamic candidate, with strong, hands on technical claims expertise, who is also adaptable in supporting broader, worldwide claims performance strategies, governance and delivery.
About the Department & Team:
The Delegated Authority Claims team is responsible for the oversight of all delegated claims partnerships supporting first and third-party claims across the UK and MENA regions, ensuring service compliance from all partnerships as well as providing technical claims handling support for a range of Coverholder and Market Facility arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Delegated Authority Claims Manager who in turn reports to the Head of Delegated Authority Claims UK & MENA.
- Helps achieve our vision of being a leading provider of claims solutions, delivering a first-class claims handling and management service.
- Responsibility for managing LII UK and MENA delegated partners to ensure compliance with all aspects of delegated claims best practice and service performance, including adherence to claims SLAs and Liberty’s claims philosophies and standards.
- Provides claims handling (referral) authority support for a range of Coverholder, Market Facility and other delegated authority arrangements, particularly across FinPro Lines, and additionally Property and Casualty classes.
- Requires strong technical claims experience and judgement to ensure adherence to claims best practice, outstanding technical claims and customer service delivery.
- Direct support for delivering the Delegated Authority Claims Audit Strategy, including utilisation and management of external audit resource where appropriate.
- Attendance and support with periodic site visits and relationship meetings with Delegated Claims Partners.
- Works closely with the first and third-party claims teams, supporting the centralised oversight of all delegated claims partnerships servicing those Claims Pillars. Collaborates with Claim Pillar heads to ensure resource is utilised effectively in meeting all referral and other delegated claims objectives.
- Works with Liberty’s (Strategic) Claims Operations teams to continually assess and improve operational efficiencies and outsourcing of non-technical tasks and so help ensure optimum operations support for all delegated authority arrangements.
- Supports the delivery of Liberty’s delegated authority claims risk control and governance framework, ensuring adherence to claims best practice, processes, controls and regulatory requirements.
- Responsibility for continually measuring and reporting compliance with best practice, service and communication through Claims Performance MI and Analytics and internal file audits.
- Supports the sourcing, selection and onboarding of new DCA service arrangements, as necessary.
- Works closely with all relevant stakeholders throughout the life cycle of delegated claims and business relationships i.e. with DCAs, Coverholders, policyholders, brokers, co-insurers, actuaries and underwriters.
- Works with Claims Business development colleagues and underwriters to promote and maintain good working practices and client relationships.
- Provides first point of contact for Customer/DCA complaints, ensuring those are handled efficiently in accordance with LSM Conduct Policy.
Skills and Experience:
- ACII qualified or working towards
- Experience in the London Market in relevant classes
- Requires advanced knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, procedures and techniques, including, but not limited to coverage issues, product lines, marketing, IT and product competition within the marketplace.
- Knowledge of law and insurance regulations in various jurisdictions.
- Ability to effectively interact with brokers and internal departments is essential.
- Verbal, written communication and organization skills.
- Negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills also required.
- Willingness to mix tasks and work in a changing environment to achieve the efficient operation of the claims team
- Ability to decide the complexity of claims on prescribed rules.
