We’re looking for a Credit Analyst / Manager to join our Credit Risk Management team within the Insurance Wealth and Retirement (IWR) function, part of Aviva’s Chief Investment Office. If you’re passionate about investing in private assets, including corporate credit, asset backed finance, structured deals and other portfolios, and believe that credit risk management is fundamental to a successful investment function, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

A bit about the job:
The Credit team works closely with Aviva Investors, internal CIO stakeholders and a select group of external managers to support the underwriting and management of long-dated, cashflow-matching assets that support our annuity business. These assets span both public and private markets and are essential to Aviva’s long-term strategy.
As a Credit Analyst / Manager, you will work under the guidance of Senior Managers in the Credit team and interact with other stakeholders across the Chief Investment Office and the wider Aviva Group. You’ll will be heavily involved in 1st line Credit assessment across all asset classes with a focus on Structured Finance, making recommendations to credit committee on private asset transactions and conducting post origination surveillance. You’ll also support on the development of new asset classes and help shape future developments in portfolio underwriting and surveillance processes.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong academic background, ideally in a quantitative discipline; professional qualifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of private cashflow-generating assets, especially structured and securitised assets, ideally with a strong understanding of waterfalls, tranching, credit enhancement, triggers, and performance reporting.
- Modelling competence, including the ability to model scenario & sensitivity analysis, interpret model outputs and identify limitations, and analyse Credit Rating Agency approaches.
- A collaborative and flexible mindset with a proactive approach to driving change and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to committees.

- Starting salary £40,000 to £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
