As part of a newly expanded Market Governance and Risk team, you will be responsible for the oversight of a portfolio of managing agents in relation to Lloyd’s Oversight Principle 10 encompassing governance, risk management, reporting and culture capability.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that oversight of your portfolio of managing agents is conducted in line with the defined Oversight Objectives and Principles
- Reviewing and analysing a range of documents such as Board Pack, Risk Committee Packs, Audit Committee Packs, Management Responsibilities Map, Risk Management Framework, outputs from external party reviews (e.g. Board effectiveness Reviews) ORSAs, Internal Audits, PRA PSM Letters etc. in order to prepare for oversight meetings with managing agent executives and non-executives, to make recommendations to the Senior Manager on whether additional oversight activity is required and to ensure any relevant concerns arising from the document review are logged in the Governance Indicators Framework.
- Preparation of briefing notes and agendas for oversight meetings, completion of minutes and follow up of resulting actions. Providing support to the Senior Manager in conducting the oversight meetings with the managing agents within the portfolio.
- Ensuring that relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Market Oversight Managers and other Principle oversight teams are maintained and developed to promote sharing of information and collaboration and embedding the Governance Indicators Framework (GIF). Attendance at Team Lloyds meetings for all agents within the role holder’s portfolio and attendance at monthly GIF meetings.
- Ensuring consistent and clear documentation reviews, consistent record keeping of all oversight activity in SharePoint and on the Managing Agent Tracker and all assessments within Dynamics.
- The coordination and completion of the summary document for any Changes of Control reviews within the portfolio and submission to the Senior manager for review.
- Keeping up to date with market trends and issues as maintaining a good level of regulatory knowledge ensuring that oversight activity encompasses these areas of focus.
- Ensuring the Senior Manager of Market Governance and Risk is aware of any issues or concerns relating to managing agents meeting their expected maturity
Essential to the role is a good working knowledge of:
- Expected capabilities and responsibilities of Boards, key committees and key senior roles
- Risk management and key elements of risk management frameworks
- Regulatory expectations in regard to governance and risk management
- Structure of Lloyd’s and the wider insurance market
