Job overview:
We’re seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to play a key role in delivering AXA UK&I’s Alternative Assets strategy. You’ll source and evaluate investments, monitoring portfolio performance, and contribute to Investment Committee decisions and cross-team initiatives. The Investment Team oversees a multi-billion pound portfolio across public and private markets, with Alternative Assets playing an important and growing role in portfolio construction and return generation.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and evolution of the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), focusing on alternative assets such as Private Debt, Property, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds, while maintaining a cross-asset perspective.
- Identify, evaluate, and source private market investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and risk/return assessments to ensure strategic fit.
- Prepare and present investment proposals to governance bodies, supporting decision-making processes.
- Support negotiations on investment and legal terms, collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.
- Monitor and analyse portfolio performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending portfolio adjustments or new initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with asset managers and investment partners for ongoing monitoring and strategic discussions.
- Collaborate across teams and contribute to market research, cross-asset initiatives, and ad-hoc projects supporting the investment strategy.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Your skills & experience:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related fields and CFA qualification is desirable.
- Significant experience in asset management, consulting or institutional investment.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, investment principles and key financial instruments, including private markets.
- Analytical and quantitative skills with experience evaluating multi-asset portfolios or private market investments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear reports and presentations.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of insurance portfolios or private assets is advantageous but not essential.
