Kennedys is looking for an Events Executive to join our Business Development team, in London.
Kennedys' events are an integral part of its business development strategy. The Business Development team supports the firm's global growth ambition and its clients and markets.
The successful Events Executive will support the Events team, to coordinate and deliver high quality events which support the firm's global growth ambition and its business development objectives. You will work with the Events Advisor and Manager to organise and deliver our annual events programme, on time and within budget, with direct ownership of coordinating your own portfolio of events. Our events programme can include seminars, webinars, drinks receptions, lunches and dinners, mainly for external clients and contacts.
The role requires direct liaison with partners, fee earners and other members of BD, across the global network, ensuring the smooth and professional running of events from planning to post event evaluation.
They must also work collaboratively within the events team, contributing to the effectiveness of the business development department by providing a comprehensive and efficient service to internal and external clients in order that the business objectives of the firm and the department are achieved.

The global functions include Global Client Account Management (CAM), Pursuits, BD, Marketing Technology & Data, and Marketing and Communications. We have a BD presence in APAC, UK, EMEA, and the US.
Key responsibilities
With guidance from the Events Advisor, Events Manager and other members of BD to run UK based in person and online events to the highest standard of quality, typical duties include:
- Project plan creation
- Drafting event communication materials – external and internal
- Budget process, management and tracking
- Drafting highly targeted client lists
- Working with the design team to produce event material
- Working with the digital team to produce relevant content for our website and social media channels
- Managing logistics and on-site/virtual support
- Collation of event evaluation and communication to Clients and Market team for follow up
- Liaise with members of Business Development, lawyers, office services, front of house, catering, print room, external venues and suppliers to ensure event related activities are booked and delivered on time and within agreed budgets.
- Work with the Clients and Markets team to manage the process of creating bespoke, targeted event lists for each event. Work with secretaries to ensure they know how to access event lists and add contacts to active lists – promoting the use of the firm's CRM system (InterAction) at all times.
- Ensure Kennedys' website, events app, intranet pages/calendar and event spreadsheet are up to date with the latest event details including invitations lists for internal purposes.
- Create high quality and imaginative electronic event invitations, taking responsibility for working with fee earners to ensure invitations are drafted in a non-technical way that informs clients about the subject matter. Ensure events are promoted internally including pre-event promotion and post-event promotion e.g. intranet stories and news items.
- Manage logistics for on-site events from end to end and provide the highest quality support. Create badges, meet and greet clients at events. Ensure rooms and IT equipment are set up in advance.
- Manage logistics for virtual events from end to end and provide the highest quality support, including pre-event technical run throughs and on-day virtual event management.
