Summary of Position
This Account Executive role sits within our North American D&F team handling business for U.S. clients. The main focus will be providing support to US-based clients across Real Estate, municipalities, manufacturing and food/agriculture business. Our account mix is diverse and always changing, so will require an individual with flexibility and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Co-ordinate placement of risks, including production of documentation to assist placement and maintenance throughout the risk life cycle (underwriting submissions, market reform contracts, wordings, endorsements)
- Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and ability to communicate this to various audiences (Insureds, Retailers, Wholesalers, Internal and Underwriters)
- Ensure accounts are serviced efficiently and professionally
- Creation of MRC slips, policy wordings and Underwriter submissions; deals with slip endorsements; maintains the certificate log; negotiates bespoke wordings to meet Clients’ needs
- Process and submit premium for monthly bordereaux to XIS; submits Open Market and Binding Authorities to XIS for signing and policy production; chases clients for outstanding premiums
- Monitors and maintains workflow, budgetary records, debit notes and policy wordings; operates a paperless filing system and strives to streamline processes
- Works with Directors to identify and qualify opportunities for business development
- Assists in design of complex program structures to provide innovative risk transfer alternatives as required
- Ensures excellent service and compliance using meticulous checking and organisation; processes annual compliance on Atlas
- Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements (Contract Certainty, LMBS)
- Enables and encourages interaction and collaboration with other divisional units
- Build a relationship with clients via e-mail, telephone and face-to-face dealing with Client, Underwriter and Market Representative queries
- Adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures together with mandatory training requirements
- Adhere to financial reporting requirements including monthly phasing of income

- An understanding of London Market insurance processes
- Familiarity with slip and endorsement content
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Excellent IT & organisational skills
- Strong administration skills with the ability to use own initiative, taking ownership
- Ability to perform effectively to tight deadlines with good personal organisation and time management skills
- Anticipates problems in advance and makes contingencies
