The remit of the Chief Underwriting Reinsurance office (CUO Office Re) is extensive; we provide relevant support to the Reinsurance Underwriters and help them stay on track to meet their strategic goals. As a Business Analyst, you will report into the Head of CUO Reinsurance Office and be a key part of the Reinsurance team. To be successful in this role, you’ll use your first-class organisational skills, you’ll communicate effectively and maintain a focus on execution while seeking for ways to continuously improve how we do things. Moreover, you thrive when collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders within an office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the key day to day interface between CUO Office and the broader Reinsurance team to support on business-as-usual and ad-hoc tasks as they arise. This includes supporting the team on logistics and governance matters.
- Working closely with the underwriting and their supporting teams to organise and structure team offsites as well as client & broker engagement events for which you’ll also work closely with our marketing teams to ensure that we are maximising the opportunity with our clients and brokers.
- Champion the Convex communications strategy, ensuring key information is shared and disseminated.
- Working with key stakeholders in ensuring all key documentation, such as guidelines, business continuity plans and risk registers, is kept up to date.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations, including for Board and Executive meetings and other internal and external communications.
- Trouble shoot issues as identified by the Reinsurance CUOs and Head of Reinsurance CUO Office.
- Ensure compliance to Group policies and internal audit requirements, maintaining an available auditable trail as needed.
- Support on key Reinsurance and Convex projects.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Highly organised and proactive in coordination.
- Well-rounded communication skills with the potential to influence, manage stakeholders and present.
- Experience of managing projects is highly advantageous. Other technical skills might include understanding data, supporting the visualisation of Management Information.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work at speed given complex and difficult technical situations, using adequate prioritisation skills.
- Problem-solving/ can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexible and adaptable to change, able to contribute within an entrepreneurial environment.
- Commercially aware, with an ability to understand the needs of both the CUO Re function and broader stakeholder groups.
