The opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the UK Life Reporting team as a Financial Accountant.
With the growing focus on Sustainability Reporting, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the impact of changes to reporting requirements for sustainability related disclosures. You will work closely with the reporting teams across our UK businesses to ensure compliance with requirements and to ensure all the relevant teams understand these requirements. This will include supporting the business with future regulatory change. You will be the first point of contact for our UK sustainability reporting within our financial accounts, liaising with Group and senior colleagues around our business.
It is an exciting time to be joining the team, as you will be leading the thinking and design of reporting during a period of rapid evolution.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a vital part in helping the department to achieve its objectives and ensure the team delivers a high quality service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is able to work both independently and as part of a team in order to identify operational improvements whilst delivering on our commitment to customers.

What will you be doing?
- Ensure quality delivery of the UK Sustainability reporting
- Ensure high quality controls and governance over UK Sustainability reporting
- Monitor and impact assessment of new reporting requirements
- Development of processes to support any new reporting requirements working with relevant stakeholders
- Produce high quality reports and present to senior colleagues (e.g. through Board meetings)
- Manage stakeholder relationships with local auditors, UK Life Reporting management team, Group Sustainability Reporting, wider Finance department and central Sustainability team
- Continue to challenge and improve our processes
- Produce and deliver training suite and relevant updates to UK Finance
- Support the UK targets in respect of Sustainable Revenues, working across the business
- Responsible for the Group reporting in respect of Sustainable Revenues
- Respond to relevant consultations, in UK working with Public Affairs and through Group engagement
- Provide broader team support as required, including deputising for the Head of Sustainability Reporting
What are we looking for?
- You will either have an accounting qualification or relevant Sustainability qualification/experience
- You will have the ability to think strategically while working with limited guidance
- You will have strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- You will have strong problem-solving skills, and a high level of agility
- You will have a can-do attitude
- You will have experience in building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders
