Role Summary & Purpose
The Senior Reporting Analyst will build strong relationships and work closely with the senior members of the Arch Finance Team and key stakeholders at Arch.
They will be responsible for the reporting requirements of the Credit Control Team. They will be an expert in managing and analysing large data sets, preparing variance analysis reports and presenting in a clear concise format (written and verbally).
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely month end and quarter end Aged Debt reporting across all London Market and Company business, working closely with Credit Control to understand issues and provide data support.
- Produce quarterly Bad Debt report for the quarterly bad debt provision.
- Produce quarterly Syndicate Management Committee reports, combined for Aged Debt and Unallocated Cash.
- Conduct analytical reporting to identify trends, patterns, insights to support department initiatives and decision making.
- Awareness, and adherence to, SOX and process/controls.
- Complete data reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Ad hoc investigations to support finance and business requirements.
- Create and maintain data definitions, report specifications and user guides.
- Support Management in setting and tracking targets through data analysis
- Work collaboratively with Finance Senior Management team, Credit Control and Cash Management to validate aged debt, bad debt, unallocated cash and any necessary adjustments.
- Other ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills/Competencies
- Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills.
- Proficient in large datasets.
- Advanced skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word (for reporting), PowerBI or similar analysis tool, CreditSee (internal Credit Control system).
- Confident in communicating with a broad stakeholder group (from Senior Management to Team members).
- Professional manner and presentation.
- Strong understanding of business systems and processes.
- Good understanding of credit control processes and methodologies.
- Ability to work unsupervised, prioritising and managing own time accordingly.
- Proactively managing workload ensuring Arch reporting deadlines are met.
- Works effectively as part of a larger team and independently when necessary.
- Appreciation of a strong control environment and proactively seeking continual improvement.
Experience
- Experience in aged debt reporting, other report production and analysis essential.
- Lloyd’s and London Market Insurance experience essential and knowledge of binders, consortium arrangements and MGA’s is preferred.
- Organised and committed to delivering monthly/quarterly timetable requirements.
- Good stakeholder management and comfortable with working and presenting from Senior Management to Team members.
- Experience with an appetite to drive continuous process improvement within the reporting deliverables and across the team.
- Methodical approach to managing large datasets.
- Transformation and improvement of the control environments, especially around source system reconciliations.
