Job Description
Responsibility for handling professional and financial lines claims emanating from all open market and delegated authority policies written by Westfield Specialty in particular Syndicate 1200/5319.
Adjuster will be taking technical referral from and overseeing third party administrators, adjusters and lawyers with delegated claims authority.
Working with Liability Claims Manager and Senior Liability adjusters to develop knowledge and skill base to move to handling more complex claims.
Responsibilities
- Effective claims handling of Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines claims in accordance with Westfield’s Claims Philosophy and Claims Guidelines, advising on coverage and potential to impact Westfield and recommending strategy to bring them to a timely and effective resolution to ensure exceptional customer experience.
- Proving technical assistance and guidance to the adjuster handling the Dubai book of PI claims.
- Instructing and controlling external service suppliers, including external legal counsel and adjusters.
- Providing support to the underwriting team, actuaries and senior management including advising on claims related information, drafting and/or approving policy wordings and endorsements, updating on legal trends, attending pre-inception/renewal/claims review meetings as required and assisting in undertaking legal and/or claims studies in potential new markets/product areas.
- Reporting to senior management, underwriters, finance, actuaries, and risk management as required including preparation of claims review reports, attending underwriting, actuarial and claims review meetings and providing appropriate input prior to the Westfield Claims and Reserving meetings.
- Ensuring full compliance with all Westfield stipulated global and local operating protocols, procedures and policies, service standards and regulatory compliance.
- Relationship building, developing Westfield’s market recognition, and promoting the Westfield brand (including participation in industry conferences/committees, by way of attendance or presentation, steering committee/market meetings, meetings with brokers and insureds to discuss trends and developments and assisting Underwriters in their marketing efforts).
- Reporting on claims developments to the Liability Claims Manager and Head of Claims including referral of significant claims and trends.
- Preparing large loss reports for scenario management and outward reinsurers.
- Actively participating in and contributing to system and process improvements initiatives and innovations across the International Claims operation as required.
- Proactively seeking to identify and implement improvements to streamline the claims processes, procedures, and systems to drive efficiency whilst promoting best practice and reduce the level of manual or non-value-added tasks undertaken by claims adjusters.
- Any other work as may be assigned by the Liability Claims Manager.

Experience:
- 3-5 Years experience handling claims in the PI & FI business lines.
- Transactional Liability / Cyber and Casualty preferred but not essential
- Use of the Lloyd’s Market systems ECF2, IMR
