We have an incredible opportunity to join Phoenix Group as a Market Risk Lead Actuary in our Regulatory Capital team
The role
This is an opportunity to shape industry leading expertise in market risk, working closely with Asset Management and the wider Capital Management team to deliver ‘best in class’ internal model market risk methodologies. As the Lead Actuary in Market risk for the UK’s largest Pensions and Savings provider, you will be pushing forward industry best practice and will be leading development in this complex, challenging and highly evolving area.
The key responsibilities include:
- Annual refresh of market risk stress and base assumptions.
- Periodic review of internal model calibration methodologies.
- Becoming a subject matter expert on market risk internal model components to support wider business objectives.
- Adhering to the Phoenix Internal Model Governance process.
- Presenting the proposed changes in methodology to committees/board.
- Driving the improvement of existing process/tools.
- Supporting the juniors as a subject matter expert.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified Life Actuary with at least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong understanding of market risk related issues
- Experience of working in Risk Modelling
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior stakeholders from different disciplines right across the business.
- Ability to prioritise and challenge.
- Have a proactive attitude and a good technical base.
