This role is suited to someone with strong data skills, analytical curiosity and an understanding of insurance and financial risks, who is seeking more breadth of experience to advance and further their development.

The team
The Financial Risk and Insights team supports the Chief Risk Officer and works with the wider UK Risk team and Zurich Group colleagues to promote a culture of sound risk awareness, support risk identification and mitigation, and provide oversight of management’s delivery of the business strategy, aligned to the risk appetite.
The team oversees first line financial risk activity in actuarial, reinsurance, investments, proposition development and pricing, engaging with a broad set of stakeholders.
The team works across the Zurich’s UK Life and UK P&C businesses. This role is P&C aligned, and it also offers opportunity to provide support to the Life Business.

Key experience
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a Risk function, strong data skills, and a high proficiency in the use of data visualisation tools. You should be able to critically analyse information to gain insights. Knowledge of insurance and financial risks is a definite advantage. Additionally, you should be eager to develop skills in balance sheet management, reinsurance, and other risk-related topics.
What will you be doing?
Support the team with the oversight of the financial risk management framework, working closely with the UK business and its technical functions, with these responsibilities:
- Taking the lead to prepare the risk reporting and the provision of management information to key committees of the UK CRO, looking for continuous improvements
- Supporting the assurance work over model risk and the provision of reports to the Model Risk Committees
- Working collaboratively with the UK Risk team on a programme of activities to automate and simplify the Risk reporting using data visualisation and analytics tools
- Supporting the managers in the team in the monitoring of first line risk reporting
- Contributing to the analyses of emerging risk and climate change risk
- Contributing to the production of the Own Risk Assessment report
- Inputting into the wider challenge, oversight, and technical risk opinions
- Supporting the development of existing financial Risk Appetite statements and metrics
- Supporting the development of stress and scenario testing practices, enhancing the use of the Zurich Group internal model
- Providing ad hoc support to key strategic and regulatory projects
- Staying abreast of regulatory developments
- Liaising within the wider Risk teams, and key stakeholders incl. Capital, Actuarial, Pricing and Reinsurance and across the wider UK business and Group
What are we looking for?

- Initiative-taking, organised and driven to deliver to set deadlines, ability to multi-task
- Take responsibility for assigned tasks, managing expectations and stakeholders
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Experience in the use of data visualisation tool is a definite advantage
