Lead Business Analyst
We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst for a 6 month fixed term contract (FTC) to manage all aspects of the business analysis function within Operations.
The role requires a clear understanding of business analytics best practise to coach and lead a team of business analysis professionals, delivering against a variety of digital and business transformation projects.
The role requires a strong ability to adopt a variety of communication and engagement styles with internal and external parties.
This role reports to and works closely with the Head of Change, to support effective delivery across the MRS-GM
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of specialist business and testing analysts with a range of professional backgrounds and experience
- Line management of business and test analysts ensuring training, coaching and oversight provided as required
- Manage hiring process to ensure a strong team of business and test analysts able to support transformational and digital initiatives
- Use flexible analytics tools to enable easy collaboration and process mapping between project stakeholders
- Establish appropriate requirement templates and mechanisms to support documentation of business, systems or technical requirements
- Establish close collaboration with the Head of Change and Lead Project Manager to ensure unified delivery approach
- Ensure appropriate assignment of resources
- Mandatory participation in team wide change forum to manage BAU and operational changes to existing propositions
- Establish effective relationships with Munich Re Group IT to ensure successful in-project collaboration
- Business analysis workstream lead across higher profile partner projects;
- Capture, define, prioritise, document and explain business requirements based on project objectives
- Evaluate, analyse and manage in-project tech vendors
- Provide expertise across policy administration system build including any technical integrations
- Contribute to product roadmaps and backlog refinement
- Ensure the interfaces between service providers and internal stakeholders work seamlessly
- Produce and manage requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria from undefined and unstructured information on strategic projects
- Identify issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and time management skills
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation & negotiation skills
- Ability to nurture and build a cohesive team structure and spirit
- Ability to coach and develop business analysts with varying backgrounds
- Understanding of wider business goals and the impact business analytics has on them
- Knowledge of insurance policy administration, policy lifecycles and workflows
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivery of requirements
Desirable
- Experience of test analytics
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience with Story Mapping
- Understanding of Restful APIs
- Experience conforming product definition to regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience of working at an InsurTech or setup on start-up
- Experience/Knowledge of structured or un-structured database architecture
