Lloyd's is seeking to recruit a Design Lead you will work within one of our business functions(known internally as a domain) teams to shape and design change initiatives, ensuring they align to our transformation strategy, design principles and future state business architecture.
You will be responsible for the design of new transformation initiatives, their impact on the end-to-end customer journey, the process as-is / to-be states, and the shaping of any new /changes to existing products or services (if applicable).
Your role will rely on pulling in the right design support from key disciplines as / when required across IT, Operations, Risk, Legal. You will work closely with relevant business areas as well as working with the Domain Product manager, Business Analysts and Architecture team.
You will be champion for design practices and help drive best practice in market research and engagement to really understand the problem and solution options.
Principal Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of the key customer and stakeholder journeys and service blueprints for the business area you support.
- Drive a user-centric approach to problem solving across the business
- Support the transformation team in delivery, growth and engagement of User first thinking and contribute to the evolution of our design capability, artefacts and ways of working.
- Champion the use of design practices such as the double diamond process and research methodologies to truly understand the market problem.
- Lead on the shaping and design of target processes, and where applicable new / changes to existing products / services.
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, Risk, Legal & relevant business areas to support the design process.
- Ensuring the design of initiatives are in line with our target state business architecture, as set out by our business architecture team within the design office.
- Documentation of key design decisions within projects and representation (alongside Domain Lead) of design options / key decisions through required governance .
- Work closely with the Business Analysts within change projects, providing advice and guidance to Business Analysts to achieve the design and delivery of effective solutions.
- Ensure consistent application of our design principles (Business, Tech, Data) across change initiatives.
Skills & Knowledge and Experience
- Leading end to end process design and optimisation
- Customer/stakeholder focused journey mapping, analysis and optimisation
- Facilitating large scale workshops and collaboration sessions to drive agreed decisions
- Balancing strategic and tactical decision making, and ensuring clarity on understanding of risks
- associated with decisions
- Managing a broad range of stakeholders, including senior C-suite relationships and SME(manager) level colleagues
- Bringing clarity to complexity, allowing stakeholders to clearly understand and support design decisions
- Working closely with and effectively managing third party strategic partners
- Understanding of the London Market or Financial Services industry Financial Services would be beneficial
- Understanding of service design methods
- End to end journey definition
- Understanding of change management, project management and software development methodologies
- Excellent understanding of the variety of business analysis techniques, when and how to apply them.
- Ability to define large and/ or complex problems, and investigate solutions
- Ability to work with different working styles and move conflict to consensus
- Provide actionable feedback; works with delivery teams to align deliveries to target states
- Collaboration at scale; can work with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Leadership and influencing within the design community, including Architecture, Business Analysis and Product Management
