The Role - Binding Authority Technician
The purpose of this role will primarily be to contribute towards the smooth running of the Managed Underwriting Support team within the Technical Department, providing support to the Broking and Managed Underwriting departments, with particular attention being made towards the points detailed below.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance/back-up of the Technical Binding Authority diary.
- Creating New Great Lakes Insurance SE (GLISE) Agreements using the required systems.
- Assist with production of GLISE New and Renewal Agreements, Endorsements and other associated general correspondence.
- Assist with GLISE bordereaux production and processing of premium.
- Setting up the Policies and Facilities in Global for the GLISE New and Renewals Agreements.
- General office administration.
- To learn and assist where necessary in all areas of the Technical Binding Authority team.
- Assist in production of the annual Profit Commission process.
- Assist with production of Confirmations of Cover, Endorsements and other general correspondence.
- Submission of Binding Authority Agreements/Endorsements/Premium Bordereaux to Velonetic.
- To embrace and actively implement the core principles of Continuous Conversations (Commitments, Feedback and Development) as part of daily activities and with other colleagues.
- Take ownership of and make personal and professional development a priority as part of Continuous Conversations.
- In line with Continuous Conversations, establish and achieve development aspirations and needs through the setting of commitments and giving and receiving frequent, constructive feedback (referring to resources provided for support).
- To abide by the policies and procedures of Bell & Clements Ltd.
Key Skills and Experience
- Professional experience working for a Lloyd’s Broker.
- Experience of working in a technical binder processing role is essential.
- Experience in premium bordereaux processing.
- Good standard of literacy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines.
- MS Office skills essential (MS Outlook, Word & Excel).
- Knowledge of US business would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of insurance/broking systems desirable (DCOM, DDM would be an advantage).
- General office experience or specific exposure to the insurance industry would be an advantage.

- Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
