Do you have a proven track record of development and delivery of procurement strategy and demonstrable experience of working at C-Suite level? Can you partner with the business to pragmatically challenge senior stakeholders to help shape the thinking and inform the strategy? We’re seeking a Procurement Business Partner to set the tone as to how procurement business partnering should work and be visible and credible within the AXA Commercial leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate leadership both within the stakeholder environment and within the Procurement team itself. You’ll have ample opportunities to influence business thinking and decisions and make a significant contribution to the strategic direction of AXA Commercial. You’ll set the structure in terms of procurement of technology, processes and adjacent services that help the AXA Commercial Blueprint transformation programme deliver.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work with the business unit COO, and Senior Management team and key stakeholders on the creation of strategic procurement plans.
- Own and drive the implementation of bespoke procurement strategic initiatives to enable the business to deliver their third-party plans across business area.
- Gather intelligence and share market trends with the business on best-in-class procurement practices to influence the business strategy enabling AXA to achieve greater value for money.
- Work in collaboration with Category Managers within Procurement Transversal team to ensure category strategies are fed into, and in-depth category knowledge is able to be shared with the business.
- Provide MI and Insights to enable effective management of spend and risk.
- Champion and lead transversal procurement projects and initiatives ensuring successful embedding within the business area.
- Lead on third-party engagement, developing strategic plans to ensure we develop a highly engaged stakeholder community, with benefits and services to support the delivery of the business strategy.
- Know and develop the key third-party relationships and accounts in the business, ensuring resilience and diversity is considered.
What you’ll bring:
- MCIPS Qualified and/or relevant large-scale procurement management experience. Line Management and project management experience (desirable).
- Strong commercial and financial awareness (e.g. understanding of the external market, structuring of commercial deals, company performance, market intelligence, business drivers).
- Understanding of how the business operates and being able to talk the “business language”.
- Relationship/account management to include – negotiation, contracting, consultancy, facilitation, influencing, presentation and communication skills.
- Coach senior leaders (including the ability to manage difficult discussions) and to think and act strategically and apply project management methodology.
- Resilience and the ability to deal with conflict and ambiguity.
- Ability to build a strong internal network and to refer network connections to each other to make progress on goals.
