Kennedys is looking for an experienced, proactive business analyst & critical thinker, who can investigate business situations, identify and evaluate options for improving business systems, define requirements and ensure the effective use of information systems in meeting the needs of the business.
Team
The Change Team is responsible for overseeing firm-wide governance and the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of initiatives. This portfolio encompasses a wide range of activities, including business process improvement and technology implementation projects. The team plays a key role in ensuring that these initiatives are effectively planned, governed, and delivered, often in collaboration with third-party suppliers, technology partners, or solution providers.
Key responsibilities
- To identify and investigate the root causes, not symptoms, of business problems and address those root causes.
- To analyse opportunities for business improvement and to enable business agility.
- To challenge predetermined solutions, and identify and evaluate options for meeting business needs.
- To elicit business requirements, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, unambiguous, owned & traceable.
- To be aware of financial and timescale constraints, to identify requirements that are not feasible and do not contribute to business objectives, and to evaluate stated requirements against business needs and constraints.
- To capture & document current state (as-is) business activities & business processes using the industry standard range of business analysis techniques.
- To work closely and sensitively with stakeholders in the proposition of future state (to-be) activity & process models.
- To manage internal & external stakeholders, including software system vendors, consultants & other service providers enabling optimized delivery of change.
- Ensure that solutions meet business requirements and that the expected benefits and value are captured, understood, tracked and realised.
Required experience
- Legal sector experience gained in an international firm, with a good understanding of Client Onboarding, Matter Inception, Matter Management, and experience of operational & legal business processes.
- Legal financial systems experience – a good understanding of pro-forma, billing, e-billing & collections.
- Stakeholder identification & management. Building good working relationships with senior business stakeholders.
- Experience of running requirements elicitation workshops.
- Translating business requirements into Agile user stories.
- Experience with process modelling including the use of appropriate modelling tools, techniques, and standards.
- Strong understanding of the full change and delivery lifecycle – from requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, embedding solutions with end users and driving continuous improvement.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Business Analysis accreditation (Business Analysis/ Agile BA / Process Improvement / Lean)
- Case Management experience, the Insurance marketplace, client reporting & systems migrations desirable.
