Join the Lloyd's Lab team in a critical hybrid role across the full Lab portfolio, combining hands-on innovation practice (lean startup experimentation, discovery interviews, design thinking, POC support) with operational excellence (programme delivery, sprint logistics, event coordination, stakeholder engagement). Working closely with innovation teams, alumni, consultants, programme coaches, Managing Agents, Brokers and start‑ups, helping to drive high‑quality delivery across all Lab programmes while building your own innovation toolkit in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Lloyd’s Lab is Europe’s leading insurance innovation hub, an innovation engine for new ideas, emerging technologies, and market wide transformation across the Lloyd’s ecosystem. Our multi programme portfolio is designed to help the market develop, validate, and adopt innovative solutions.
Lloyd’s Lab comprises four core programmes:
- Lab Accelerator: a 10‑week start-up accelerator focused on product development and building solutions for the Lloyd’s market.
- Lab Alumni: support for graduate companies as they scale and embed their solutions across the Lloyd’s market.
- Lab Discovery: a structured proof of concept programme that tests new technologies and approaches against market wide, high impact challenges.
- Lab Training: an 8‑week innovation capability building programme helping market participants learn how to design and develop new solutions.
In addition, Lab Consulting provides bespoke innovation services and tailored bespoke support to Lloyd’s Market organisations seeking deeper, customised engagement.
Finally, Lloyd’s Lab runs a structured series of community events designed to engage and inspire the Market:
- Lab Learns: Delivers thought leadership sessions focused on emerging risks, featuring external experts who bring new insights and education to the Market.
- Lab Lates: Brings market participants together around specific innovation themes or emerging risks to workshop challenges, co‑create solutions, and share best practice.
This role is to support all aspects of the Lloyd’s Lab, key responsibilities include:
Innovation Practice
- Support discovery work across Lab Accelerator, Discovery and Consulting, including problem framing, customer interviews and insight generation.
- Apply innovation methodologies and experimentation principles to real market challenges (e.g., value proposition design, assumptions mapping, experiment design, rapid validation).
- Support the design and delivery of product development sprints, including facilitation support, documentation and progress tracking.
- Assist with the design, setup and evaluation of Proofs of Concept (POCs), including coordinating with Managing Agents, capturing experiment outputs and helping assess commercial or technical viability.
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to develop insights and recommendations to support driving continuous improvement across programmes.
Programme & Portfolio Delivery
- Provide operational support across Lab Accelerator, Lab Alumni, Lab Discovery, Lab Training and Lab Consulting, ensuring programmes run smoothly and consistently.
- Manage programme logistics including agendas, sprint calendars, team communications, and mentor/market engagement sessions.
- Coordinate activities such as Pitch Day, Midpoint Reviews, End of Programme Retrospectives, Demo Day, community events (Lab Learns, Lab Lates) and training cohorts.
- Create and maintain high-quality materials (slides, one-pagers, playbooks, templates) aligned with Lloyd’s brand and Lab style guidelines.
- Track and document programme and engagement KPIs and help ensure the Lab continues to deliver high impact outcomes.
- Prepare high‑quality inputs for senior‑level presentations, briefing packs and Lab narrative materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity and consistency with Lab messaging and branding.
Stakeholder & Community Support
- Support the preparation and coordination of market‑facing sessions and community events with Managing Agents, brokers, alumni and external partners, ensuring senior colleagues are equipped with the right insights, materials and programme context.
- Contribute to internal and external communications about programme activity, successes and learning.
- Attend targeted events to showcase the Lab’s programmes and services to drive commercial opportunities that create value.
