Working alongside the existing Senior Manager in the team, this role will provide leadership and support to a newly formed team of 3 managers as part of the wider Risk and Governance function. You will deliver oversight of managing agents in line with defined oversight approaches for the Market Governance and Risk team in relation to governance arrangements and risk management capability and ensuring that oversight is conducted in line with the defined Oversight Objectives and Principles.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring there is appropriate oversight of managing agent governance arrangements, culture, and risk management capability. To ensure the Head of Market Governance and Risk is aware of any issues or concerns relating to managing agents meeting their expected maturity for any relevant Lloyd’s Principles.
- Responsible for ensuring that relationships with key internal stakeholders such are maintained and developed to promote sharing of information and collaboration and embedding the Governance Indicators Framework.
- Ensure consistent and clear documentation of the risk-based judgments and assessments made in relation to the operation of the Governance principle and sub-principles, working closely with all other oversight areas to ensure the taking of a structured, co-ordinated and forward looking approach to market oversight.
- Responsible for the review and recommendation to the Head of Department for all managing agent Changes of Control.
- Responsibility for understanding the wider regulatory landscape as well as current issues and trends, whilst also ensuring that oversight is appropriate to respond to these and is clearly articulated in the Annual Market Oversight Plan.
- Accountability for the processes within the team to reflect all oversight activity in MS Dynamics, ensuring it is accurate and kept up to date.
- Provide consistent and high quality leadership to the team, and an escalation point for issues and delivering difficult messages to stakeholders
- Role model the key elements of the Lloyd’s culture framework – Leadership, Ethics, Respect, Trust and Motivation to proactively promote a well performing culture within the team
To deliver this role effectively you will need to have prior experience of leading a team, building extensive external stakeholder relationships and demonstrate a deep knowledge of risk management and key elements of risk management frameworks.
