What the day will look like
Some of your key responsibilities will involve:
- Assisting the Underwriters to ensure that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the Delegated Underwriting Authority
- Recording of risks on the Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashion
- Meeting agreed service standard to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issued within agreed timescales
- Ensuring full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurers
- Building an excellent working relationship with the GBC teams
- Provide general assistance to the Team Leader and Underwriters
- Building excellent working relationships with supporting insurers
- Participate in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facility
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and input into technical and commercial market intelligence
- Monitor and control of new and renewal business, including aggregate monitoring

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach, with the ability to accurately process data, documentation and risk information while learning technical concepts on the job
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to work with underwriters, brokers and internal teams and ask questions to build understanding
- Good time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, supporting multiple accounts and deadlines in a structured underwriting environment
- A proactive and positive attitude, showing willingness to learn, take feedback on board and contribute to team objectives in a specialist underwriting function
