Job overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Capital Analyst to support the calibration and development of AXA UK’s Internal Model for Health and General Insurance lines. As a key member of the Capital Modelling team, you’ll contribute to analysing and enhancing the model’s use to support strategic business decisions and help AXA UK achieve its financial targets. Reporting to the Capital Modelling Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with actuarial, risk, and finance teams to ensure robust capital management and insightful analysis.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the production of capital assessments and solvency requirements, working closely with the Capital team.
- Assist in the calibration, maintenance, development, and validation of the Internal Model across AXA UK.
- Contribute to developing insurance risk assumptions and ensure model compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
- Participate in group working parties and help develop plans for model evolution and regulatory approval.
- Support the implementation of risk management systems, focusing on capital calculations and ORSA processes.
- Help embed risk appetites for insurance and health risks, ensuring compliance with policies and profitability considerations.
- Review reinsurance arrangements to ensure risk transfer is efficient and effective.
- Deliver actuarial analysis, collaborate on latest developments, and ensure controls for IFC, IMR, and external validation are properly followed.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
- Progressing through Actuarial exams with Insurance experience.
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills to support actuarial analysis.
- Proficient modelling skills, with experience in actuarial software like ReMetrica preferred but not essential.
- Experience working within a general or health insurance environment.
- Ability to design, execute, and communicate analysis under supervision from senior specialists.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of insurance risk and capital modelling principles.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and technical development.
