We have the opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Human Resources department here at Tokio Marine Kiln on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity. This is a hybrid role providing 80% HR Generalist support to the HR Business Partners and 20% support to the HR Operations team. You will provide support to the HR Operations Lead, maintaining service standards on key processes alongside the HR Ops team. You will work closely with the HR Business Partners to deliver a generalist HR service to the business contributing to the delivery of the HR Priorities and People & Culture strategy.
The role includes responsibility for:
- Respond to queries and proactively deliver first line guidance to managers and employees on HR policy and procedure
- Advise managers and employees end to end through first line employee relations matters (e.g. flexible working, absence management, performance management, disciplinary, probation), with escalation to an HR Business Partner as appropriate
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on Family Leave, advising on policy as well as good practice before, during and upon return
- Participate in the Parents & Carers Network as HR representative
- Review leaver survey responses and conduct exit interviews, compiling notes, conducting analysis and sharing key learnings and/or areas of concern with the HR Business Partners
- Participate in the delivery of HR projects and initiatives
- Contribute to the regular review of HR policies and procedures
- Responsible for monthly absence reporting. Compile occasional data and other qualitative information to support HR Business Partners with MI and reporting requirements.
- Advise upon and coordinate the occupational health process including referrals, reviewing reports, sharing guidance with managers, liaising with employees and other key stakeholders (e.g. payroll and benefits, the HR Operations team, Facilities) on phased returns, reasonable adjustments and wellbeing check-ins guided by the HR Business Partners as appropriate
- Create the monthly Wellbeing Comms, working with the Reward & Benefits team and liaising with providers as needed to promote awareness and wellbeing engagement opportunities for our employees
- Support the HR Ops team, maintaining key service standards (e.g. on Joiners and leavers, contractual changes, maintaining the HRIS and Family and other leave types)
- Work with the HR Business Partners on ER and organisational change matters on which they are leading as well as assisting with key annual lifecycle activities (e.g. reward, talent and succession, performance management, headcount budgeting) as needed
Demonstrable experience working in a similar role providing a responsive and customer focussed HR service is essential, as is experience of independently advising upon and managing end to end first line employee relations matters, under supervision from a senior HR practitioner. You will have previous experience of an HR Operations support role and at HR Advisor level. Ideally, you will be at least part CIPD qualified and working towards a full qualification. Experience working within Insurance is desirable although not essential.
